Direction is set per side, so a set can have a right-to-left word and a left-to-right meaning. Auto lets the browser decide from what you type.

The example is on the meaning side, so Meaning first shows it on the question face — and an example usually contains the word being asked for.
The word always stays on the word side and the meaning on the meaning side. Meaning first and Word first in the study view only choose which of the two you see first.
Tab moves between fields. Enter moves to the next row and adds one at the end. Shift + Enter puts a line break inside a card. Ctrl/Cmd + B, I or U emphasises the selection, as do the buttons on the row you are in. Pictures are shrunk to fit before they are stored. Drag the handle, or use the arrows, to reorder.
Two fields is enough. The columns are the editor’s own fields, in the same order: word | meaning | pronunciation | example. A Quizlet export — word, Tab, definition — pastes straight in. Pick Tab as the separator. A separator, a backslash or a line break inside a card travels escaped: \| \\ \n.
